The Medical Society of Virginia has been recognized by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) since the ACCME’s founding in the mid-1980s. As an ACCME Recognized Accreditor, MSV has accredited other eligible organizations that provide continuing medical education for physicians in Virginia and adjacent states.
The Recognized Accreditor program identifies, develops, and promotes standards for quality continuing medical education that support the improvement of clinical competence and skills and the utilization of new knowledge to improve the quality of medical care, ultimately improving the health of patients and their communities.
To achieve additional strength from size and synergies, MSV is now a founding member of the Southern States CME Collaborative, or SSCC, along with Mississippi State Medical Association and the North Carolina Medical Society. Going forward, MSV, through the SSCC, continues to strive to provide excellent service to CME providers in Virginia, North Carolina, Mississippi, and their surrounding states.
